Consistently achieve pinpoint accuracy with the latest technology
The laser beam height gauge is designed to allow fast, accurate measurement of the work heights on most boats. It also addresses the problem of having to mechanically reach out across the wide variety of riggers on the market by using an accurately aligned laser light source.
Measuring the height of a complete eight can easily be done in around 4 minutes and no tape measure is required!
The laser beam height gauge is supplied in a tough polypropylene case that should be used for storage. Full user instructions are printed on the case.
FAQ
How accurate is the laser beam height gauge? The laser beam height gauge allows you to easily achieve an accuracy of 2mm or less.
What height range can the gauge accommodate? From 130 to 200mm
Does the laser beam height gauge suit all boat types? In its standard form the height tool can only be used where the top of the seat is below the edges of the gunnels/saxboards. With sculling boats this is sometimes not the case so ActiveTools offer optional spacers that can be fitted to solve this problem. Alternatively a slightly less accurate measurement can be taken by putting the height tool across the boat in front of the seat and using a tape measure to take a reading.
The boat must not be more than 700mm wide across the inner edges of the gunnels/saxboards and the gunnels/saxboards must be even.
What powers the laser? Two AAA/LR03/24A batteries are used. These should last at least two years and can then easily be replaced.
